When firefighters investigated a garage fire in Ontario, Canada they discovered a tiny 5-week old kitten covered in soot and with third-degree burns on his paws and head.

The kitten was taken to an animal hospital who treated his wounds and gave the kitten around the clock care. They weren’t sure what his prospects would be, but the kitten wasn’t going to let it beat him nor was he going to miss out on any cuddles.

Love at first sight

Rob Maguire heard about Dobby’s plight and arranged to visit him. When Rob met Dobby the little kitten just wanted to play and the pair quickly became friends. Rob was determined he would return for his new feline friend when he was well.

Despite Dobby losing some toes, it didn’t seem to slow the kitten down. Once his bandages were taken off, Dobby was quickly back on his paws, playing with his toys.

Happy ending

When he was ready to leave the hospital for a new home, Dobby was reunited with Rob who would foster-to-adopt him. Dobby took no time in settling into his new home, joining feline siblings Swif, Orion and Norisle, who took the little kitten under his paw.

Dobby isn’t so little anymore, but he’s still just as energetic and affectionate and has never let his injuries hold him back.
