TV presenter and comedian Paul O’Grady took to his Instagram to announce the news to his 163,000 followers that a special one-hour episode will be aired on Wednesday, 15 July. He also heaped praise on Battersea Dogs & Cats Home for their work.
Paul O’Grady is well-known to have adopted several rescue dogs from the charity, including Nancy, a Jack Russell puppy who he adopted after his beloved dog Boycie passed away.
Special book
He also thanked the charity for sending him a special book of photos of himself with many of the dogs from the last series of the show. The dog lover even said there’s a couple of dogs photographed in the book that he wishes he’d adopted when he got the chance.
The show has become immensely popular since it first aired in 2012. The series follows Paul as he meets staff and pups and finds out about the various medical, rescue and rehoming issues the charity deals with every day.
Passionate about animal welfare, Paul O’Grady, along with some other famous names such as Dame Judi Dench and Ricky Gervais, recently signed a letter sent to the PM Boris Johnson urging him to use his influence to help end the exotic animal trade.
