Anthony Rogers had never been a man of great material wealth but with his four-legged friend Bobo with him, he’d never considered himself poor either.
The struggling artist from Tennesse has been homeless for some time but always makes sure that Bobo is fed and well looked after.
A huge loss
And so, when he woke up one morning to find Bobo missing, he was very distraught.
He enlisted the help of some friends and had flyers put around the town but as the days turned into weeks and Bobo was nowhere to be seen, Anthony began to lose all hope.
And then, a miracle occurred. A shelter worker noticed that one of the dogs that had recently been brought in bared more than a passing resemblance to the pup in the posters.
A very emotional reunion
She called the number listed on the flyer and got through to a friend of Anthony’s who immediately alerted Anthony and he made his way to the shelter.
If anyone was in any doubt that this was Anthony’s dog, then the emotional reunion would quickly have put their mind at rest.
Anthony exclaims, “Hey Buddy” and stretches out his arms as the dog, with tail furiously wagging, rushes into the man’s arms.
Bobo leaps about excitedly, licking his owner and showing that it wasn’t just Anthony who was upset to be parted from his pal.
We dare you to watch it and not well up at least a little.
We’re so lucky to have dogs!
💙 TEARJERKER REUNION ALERT 💙 Anthony is an artist who found himself homeless after some devastating events in his life. He doesn’t have a place to live, and he doesn’t always have food to eat. But he has a best friend, a sweet dog named Bobo. And he always makes sure Bobo has enough to eat. A couple weeks ago, Anthony woke up to find Bobo was gone. He was distressed and immediately contacted friends to help him look for Bobo. They made signs and put them all over town. They talked to the people who knew Anthony and Bobo. When a dog matching Bobo’s description showed up at MAS yesterday, one of our employees, Emily, recognized Bobo immediately! She called the number on the LOST poster, and Anthony’s friend gave him a ride to the shelter within minutes to see Bobo again. Their reunion was pure joy. Bobo could not contain his happiness at seeing his dad again. Today Bobo got neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, and we found out he was heartworm negative. We sent him back to Anthony with a year’s supply of heartworm prevention, a bag of dog food, and a harness, leash, collar, and ID tag. Bobo is healthy and happy, but he needs to keep going to the vet every year to stay that way. If you’d like to donate toward his continued care at Utopia Animal Hospital so that’s one less thing Anthony has to worry about, call 901-746-8758.
