Farm dog Loryn always enjoys looking after babies, but the arrival in 2017 of four new-born goats was somewhat of a high point of her being a surrogate mum.

Together with her owner Andrea, Loryn the Golden lives on a farm. Life can be tough at times especially in the winter, but there are perks. For Loryn, one of the biggest boons of her tough outdoor living comes in the shape of a glut of baby animals, many of which she has cared for over the years.

In 2017 four goat kids were donated to Andrea. Within the blink of an eye Loryn had taken up ownership of them, caring for them as much as she could and keeping them warm with snuggles.

No difference

The goats called Mia, Delilah, Daisy Mae and Henry seemed not to see a difference between them and Loryn, and were more than happy to be chaperoned over the course of the next few months.

As the kids grew up, Loryn continued to look after them in her own way. Now adults, the goats have a unique bond with Loryn.

The mini flock still lives on the farm with Andrea and Loryn, but no longer need as much guidance from their Goldie mum as they once did. As a consequence Loryn finds herself with some free time… which she spends caring for more youngsters.
