James is located at Battersea’s Old Windsor location.
James’ ideal environment
James is not like your typical Greyhound in that he is not a couch potato! He is an active, energetic pooch who loves to be out and about. Due to this, he would be happier in a country or suburban home. Being a sighthound, he can’t be trusted alone with small animals, and as such, would do better as the only pet in the house. He will be happy to share his home with teens, though he may be a bit too boisterous for young children.
Pet of the Month James
James is a playful and goofy Greyhound with lots of love to give and that's why he's our People's @PostcodeLottery Pet of the Month! 🎉 The funds raised by players of People's Postcode Lottery have helped us be there to support dogs like him. 💙 Meet James: https://fal.cn/36LypPosted by Battersea on Wednesday, February 26, 2020
Caring for James
As with any Greyhound, James is a wash-and-wear kind of dog! Grooming and shedding are nothing to worry about with him. James is only 3 years old, and Greyhounds tend to live pretty long lives, so be prepared for a lengthy commitment!
James has had some issues with other dogs in the past, but since being with Battersea, his behaviour has improved greatly! He will need a home with owners who are prepared to continue his socialisation and positive reinforcement-based training over time. Good news though: he is highly food motivated, so if you’re determined enough, training will be a breeze!
A clown to keep you entertained
James has been described by his carers as a bit of a goon, a charismatic, life-loving pooch who LOVES human interaction! If you’re looking for an active and affectionate companion, he may just be the perfect pooch for you.
