A happy family
Love Island celeb couple, Molly Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, recently took to Instagram to express their joy at the arrival of their new Pomeranian puppy.
The tiny pup was purchased from Russia as a gift from Tommy to Molly Mae for her birthday and the couple shared their joy and excitement to social media.
A tragic ending
But, just six days later, the puppy was taken seriously ill and sadly passed away.
The tragic death led fans to question why the pup was purchased from Russia in the first place and now a leading UK vet has offered a stark warning against purchasing dogs from abroad.
Chair of the British Veterinary Association Daniella Dos Santos says that people are often lured in by cute pictures and good prices but without seeing where the dog comes from, it’s impossible to know if the breeder is reputable and if the dogs are healthy.
Always do your research when buying a puppy
Here at Wamiz, we’d always advise to do your research before you buy a pup. Thanks to Lucy’s Law, unscrupulous breeding practices are illegal in England (with the rest of the UK expected to follow suit soon) but it’s always the right idea to visit the puppy before you agree to buy.
We wish Molly Mae and Tommy all the best and hope they choose to adopt, not shop, next time.
