Being a cathedral cat might be a very important job, but it doesn’t stop Leo the cat from being a bit of a joker, even during morning prayers.

As the camera is rolling and Dr Robert Willis delivers his sermon, Leo wanders carefree into view before quickly vanishing beneath the Dean of Canterbury’s robes. Remarkably, the Dean of Canterbury doesn’t show any reaction to the antics of his feline friend and carries on with his sermon with a straight face.

The Deanery has four cats in residence, but it’s Leo who is known to be the joker.

The Deanery has been delivering daily broadcasts since March when lockdown began. But while it seems that Leo would rather like to be featured in every recording, the Deanery try to include the other cats so none of them gets jealous.

It's not clear what Leo’s feline siblings make of his latest antics!
