Every day, he walks over half a mile to the cemetery so he can spend some time with his favourite person.
Oliver belongs to the Gaspari family, who lives in Monte Baluffi, a small village in the province of Cremona. When the head of the family sadly died in 2011, Oliver’s mother Desy started to visit the cemetery every day.
In 2018, Desy also passed at age 16. But her legacy lived on. Oliver continued to make sure that his late owner was never lonely by keeping up his mum’s habits and visiting the cemetery every day.
A second home
Oliver has become a sort of mascot in his village, well-known for his daily 100 metre walk to the cemetery. As for his late owner’s wife, she finds the whole thing particularly endearing, and ensures everyone that she would never stop Oliver from taking his little walks.
We don’t know if we’ve ever seen anything so cute! Well done, Oliver, you are truly a loyal friend!
