Duck was brought in to a Florida animal clinic as a stray. She had suffered terrible injuries and her front legs were mangled.
A close call
Her rescuers were unsure how she got so terribly injured, but they assumed the kitten had hidden in a car engine to keep herself warm, and had ended up getting stuck there.
Luckily, the surgeon was determined to help the kitten live. He performed a double amputation, and helped her on the road to recovery.
A new start
Once she was feeling better, Duck went into a foster home so she could continue to grow strong until she was ready for a forever family. Duck got along really well with all her siblings, including 3 dogs, 1 cat, and 6 chickens! And she loved her humans too, and soon enough, she had stolen their hearts. Duck ended up staying in her foster home permanently.
Though she only has two legs, she’s got plenty of energy! She has learned to move around by hopping, and she loves it! Her mum got her a pair of wheels to help her walk, but she didn’t take to it too well. She prefers to be independent and hop around like a little rabbit!
