They have been caught napping on bannisters, in holes in walls, in cushions and even cup holders. In fact, while we’re on the subject here are just a few more weird places cats have been found asleep:

  • A hanging basket (beside the plant)
  • A barbeque (unlit)
  • A supermarket shelf
  • A shower rail
  • A shoe
  • A violin case

And now, according to 9gag, the trend of cats sleeping on miniature mattresses - more often seen beneath children’s dolls – is on the up.

Perfect size

In particular, IKEA beds - specifically designed to be enjoyed by young children and their dollies - are a choice place for kitties to kip.

The habit may not be a strange as it seems. After all, most of the beds are perfectly sized for the average moggy, and for those cats who feel the cold there are even bed clothes that can be drawn up for maximum cosiness.
