A rescue centre for abandoned dogs has converted part of its office space into a replica of a 'living room' to help pooches prepare for life in a real home!

Staff at the Toledo Area Humane Society in Ohio, USA, came up with the idea after one of the long-term residents, a mixed-breed called Jake, started showing signs of stress.
Jake needs a break
Despite his adorable personality, nobody had offered Jake a permanent home. And all that rejection was starting to take a toll on the poor pooch.
The staff decided Jake needed a change of scenery. So they turned an office space into a 'real-life' living room, complete with a comfy dog bed!
And it had an immediate impact, turning this glum pooch into a happy pup again! The shelter shared a pic of Jake de-stressing in the new room. It also posted:
"Jake our long stay dog is putting our Real- Life room to use. He is definitely enjoying the quiet, calm environment."
And the staff noticed something else: being in a 'proper' home really brought out Jake's personality. And it had the same effect on all the other pooches who spent some time in the new room.
An instant effect
Rescue workers realised they were on to something and started sharing videos online. And it wasn't long before offers of new homes came flooding in!
Since then, the specially designed room has helped rehome dozens of stray pooches. And yes, Jake found his forever home, too!
