Taking care of pets is a huge responsibility. And it may be even harder to do now that the Coronavirus has affected our lives in so many different ways.

Despite the tough times we are living through, there is never a good enough excuse to tie your dog up and leave it there alone to fend for itself.
A sad discovery
The events took place on a Tuesday afternoon, when a vet nurse went to the front of the shelter to collect money from the donation box. That’s when she noticed a beautiful German Shepherd dog tied up to the gate. He seemed to be waiting, patiently, for his owner’s return.
Unfortunately, that could only mean one thing. The poor pooch had been left there by someone who no longer wished to take care of him.
Smile, you're on camera
There was no mistaking what had happened once they discovered the security camera footage: a man had walked his dog to the gates, tied him up, given him a quick pet, and walked away, without a single look back. He had been wearing a sweatshirt with the hoodie up, so as to mask his identity.
The shelter staff promptly posted a picture of the GSD, asking if anyone had any information about him. It was important for them to know whether the dog had any specific health issues or requirements. It seems the dog's owner may have been feeling guilty: in response to the post, he called the shelter, apologising for his actions and giving the carers all the information they needed.
The good news is, the dog is in good health and is very handsome! He should find a loving forever home in no time!
