A family from Milan was supposed to adopt a dog from a shelter in Naples. But due to the lockdown, the family must wait before getting their new pooch.

When the family first set eyes on Chiara, a mutt at a Naples shelter, it was love at first sight.
Distance makes the heart grow fonder
They had everything prepared for her arrival, but of course, all their hopes came crashing down when the confinement measures were announced.
Some might worry that a family of adopters would give up the adoption process with all these complications, but that wasn’t the case for this Milanese family.
Until we meet again
The family reassured the shelter that they had every intention of taking Chiara home once the lockdown measures were no longer in place. In fact, they did something extra special.
They had a photo of Chiara printed onto a mug, so that they could be with her, even if only spiritually, until they could see her again in real life.
The family sent a photo of the mug to staff at the shelter, who was deeply moved by the gesture. In a Facebook post, they wrote:
“When we receive these messages, our hearts fill with joy because we know some want to adopt and are just waiting for this bad time to pass to do so.”
