If you've ever tried trimming your dog’s nails then you’ll know that it’s no mean feat. Even the laziest Saint Bernard can put up a fight when you attempt to clip his nails.

But, this dog owner has found an easy hack and the results are hilarious!

From "dork" to "genius"

The video features a Californian woman as she wraps cling film around her head. She knowingly informs us, “I might look like a dork now but soon I’ll look like a genius”. And actually, she has a point!

After wrapping the cling film tightly around her forehead, she then smears it in peanut butter and bends down to trim her dog's nails. Her pooch is perfectly distracted and happily licks away at her head as she snips away.

One careful owner

The responsible owner also takes the time to point out that the peanut butter does not contain xylitol which can be toxic to dogs.

For super active dogs, all that walking will usually wear their nails down but as we're all staying in more than ever, long claws are becoming something of a common problem.

It's not just for cosmetic reasons that nails need a trim, long nails can lead to discomfort and even injury.

Hearing the tip-tap of four feet?

So, if you’re hearing the tippy tapping of padded feet then it could be time to get the cling film out, or at the very least, think about the best way to trim your dog’s nails!
