Though it’s instinctual for cats to hunt, and bringing back prey is considered a sign of love, it’s never pleasant to find a 'gift' in your home.

That’s what this couple felt one morning when their cat came home with a ‘gift’. Especially because this gift wasn’t just like any other…It wasn’t a mouse, no…it was technically a bird…

Are you ducking kidding me?

Yes, Slippers the cat brought home a full-sized duck for his family. Talk about a big gift! But that’s not the most surprising part of this story.

While it seemed that Slippers had made a kill, what with the duck being suspiciously still and quiet, the feathered friend was not done surprising this family.

All of a sudden, she starts to bat her wings and move forward – causing a screaming fit from Slippers' mum!

Take flight, little one

In the end, all is well that ends well. Slippers’ dad opens a window for the confused animal, leading her slowly to freedom with a pillow. The video ends with a shot of the bird taking flight, and enjoying her new-found liberty.

Well.....So, this just happened. A unique start to the morning at 635am. It started with a simple phone call from upstairs. I think someone is trying to broaden their menu. Though his prey ended up getting away, we’re pretty sure this is a hunt Slippers will never forget!
