Sian Cosgrove from Leeds struck up a conversation with her neighbour across the road about their feline friend by putting messages up in her window.
Sian had often seen a black and white moggy in the window of her neighbour’s house opposite. Since everyone was told to stay at home to stop the spread of coronavirus, Sian had seen much more of her feline neighbour.
She decided it was time to find out more about the little cat. She put a sign in her window, asking her neighbours about his name. She'd been calling him Eric while admiring his majestic poses in the window.
In other news... the cat over the road is called Walter pic.twitter.com/loIHA2J4mH— Sian Cosgrove (@sian_cosgrove) March 29, 2020
But to Sian's joy, her neighbours soon responded with a sign telling her that the cute cat was called Walter. Sian replied with another sign telling the owners that she thought Walter was a great name and their cat is a handsome boy.
She didn't have to wait long to get a reply.
Sian posted about the exchange on Twitter, getting over 750,000 likes. Keen for her neighbours to know, she put up another message telling them that their little feline had become a purrfect Twitter star!
