The Italian police had to get involved when they realised the dog had been waiting in the car for an extended amount of time.
Seeing as the car was parked so close to the ski slopes, they understood that the animal's owners had left him behind while they enjoyed their day in the mountains.
The owners, aged 55 and 57, only returned 4 hours after they had initially left their dog! Not only had the car been parked in the sun, but the dog's water was empty, leaving him dehydrated by the time his owners returned.
Hot cars kill
The couple is now being pursued by justice on charges of animal abandonment.
Remember, even if it is winter, no dog should be left in a car for too long. In addition to this, a car left in the sun can heat up very quickly, even if the outside temperature is very low. This could leave your pet in severe dehydration, suffering from heat stroke, or worse.
