Four years ago, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck central Italy. Due to the shallowness of its epicentre the quake destroyed swathes of towns and villages, leaving 4000 people homeless and 295 dead.

Among those worst hit were the residents of the central region. Most ended up living in temporary wooden homes.

Dora's home was destroyed, and amid the chaos that ensued her beloved ginger cat Mimmo disappeared. Despite her friends' fruitless attempts to find the cat Dora vowed not to give up hope of Mimmo’s homecoming.

The wanderer returns

Dora never stopped looking for Mimmo even as the months and years passed. And at the beginning of this month a friend of Dora announced on Facebook that the cat was found.

Dora and Mimmo were finally reunited.

On March 7th Mimma Bei wrote on her Facebook page, “In this moment of so much concern, I want you to live a few moments, but intense..... of pure love!"
