Gianluca Zito recently announced on Facebook that he would be giving his Czechoslovakian Wolfdog pup an original albeit controversial name: Covid 19, or Covid, for short.

Why Covid?

Simply because this is the 19th newcomer to Gianluca’s home. But also, Gianluca believes that the term ‘Covid-19’ needs to be downplayed a bit…people who hear it now can’t help but feel worried and even scared. So why not associate the words to something adorable instead?

E con questo ho 19 cani. Vi presento Covid!

A social media hit

While some people think the name is in poor taste, the majority of those who have come across Gianluca's Facebook post think it's a wonderful idea:

“I must say that name is very original”, writes one.

“How wonderful!”, says another.

Though the way the virus is transmitted to and from dogs is still unclear, we think this is a very good way of dealing with the paranoia: better to take it all with a smile!
