Mongrels are sometimes overlooked in shelters because of their unique looks! Yet, they can make such fun and loving pets, and Tulip is no exception!

This week, we're introducing you to Tulip, a 4-year-old mongrel located at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home London.
Tulip's ideal environment
Tulip has a lot of energy and so would prefer to live outside the city in a home complete with a garden where she can stretch her legs out. Her social skills aren't yet perfect, so she would prefer to be the only pet in the house. Though her boisterous energy may be too much for young children to handle, she may do well in a home with responsible teenagers.
Caring for Tulip
Tulip is still a very young pooch, so anyone looking into adopting her will have to be ready to commit to owning a dog for the next 8 years at least! Don't let that short coat fool you – Tulip will be a shedder, but she’ll also be a breeze to groom!
The biggest challenge Tulip must overcome is her ability to communicate with other dogs. She can often become frustrated around fellow pooches, and so tends to be very vocal around them, which can be quite intimidating! She has shown progress with consistent training and socialising at Battersea though, so as long as her future family is willing to put in the time to continue her training, she is sure to become a very friendly young lady.
Help this Tulip blossom
Tulip is definitely a fun-loving dog! She would fit in very well in an active home who would love to spend time with her outdoors (especially if the activities include tennis balls)…
