Someone was indeed missing from this dog’s home, but police officers weren’t expecting the dog to report this, and even less so considering the identity of the missing ‘person’…

About two weeks ago, at dawn, a dog randomly entered the Police Department in Odessa, Texas. Friendly in nature, the dog propped his paws up on the front desk and proceeded to report a missing ‘person’ case – he, himself, was missing from his home.

A curious case

But the handsome pooch didn’t seem too panicked about his ‘lost dog’ status. In fact, he seemed to be enjoying his freedom and made the most of all the cuddles and playtime he got from his new police officer friends.

The police officers took the case seriously though, and contacted animal control to see whether a chip could be read on the dog. But by the time animal control arrived, the pooch had disappeared as fast as he had appeared! The officers searched and searched, but soon received a phone call from the dog's owner saying that their furry friend had returned home on his very own (a mile away)!

Solved by the dog

It seems the amicable pooch thought the officers were just taking too long to crack the case, and decided to close it on his own.

We think this guy may be cut out for the private inspector life!
