Unlucky start for Upsy Daisy dog
Despite an inauspicious start in life, this gorgeous pooch has let nothing hold her back and now she's celebrating 10 years with her forever family.
Black Labrador Upsy Daisy (known as Daisy) was born into the Dogs Trust Centre in Shoreham after her heavily pregnant mother was handed over just before she went into labour.
Her mum, a chocolate Lab named Cessie, gave birth to a litter of nine puppies but quickly rejected little Daisy, much to the confusion of the centre workers.
A special foster mum
Assistant manager Vicky Grylls took on the task of hand-rearing the little pup and wanted to show her the love that she deserved.
The pair developed such a special bond that when the time came for Vicky to give Daisy up for adoption she couldn't part with her and decided to take her on permanently instead.
A wonky doggo
After around six months, Vicky learned that Daisy had a cleft palate and a muscular problem in her jaw which led to her having a particularly wonky head but to Vicky this made her even more special.
10 years on and the pair are as happy together as ever.
We wish them both very happy lives together!
