A pitbull named Buddy proved that dogs really are man's best friend after he followed his three-year human brother into the woods and stayed with after he got lost.

Last week, in a small town in Florida, USA, a three-year-old boy and his best friend (Buddy the pitbull) decided to go on an adventure.
Best friends stick together
The pair were bored playing in the back garden, so they started to explore a large woodland area behind the family home.
Shortly after, the boy's mother realised her son was missing. She called 911 in a 'frantic' state, telling police that her son had wandered away from the family home.
Police began a search but were unable to locate the missing child. Then another call came into the dispatchers. A neighbour had seen the child in a nearby woods. And he wasn't alone - his faithful dog Buddy was right by his side.
Officers arrived on the scene a few minutes later, although they had to spend some time getting into the Pitbull's good books.
This is what friends are for
The overprotective pooch wouldn't let anyone approach his human at first, but he soon realised that these were the good guys.
The boy was then reunited with his very relieved mother. Specially trained K9 officers escorted Buddy back to the house, and it's fair to say that the pooch looked very proud of himself.
And so he should. Good job, Buddy!
