His name may be Bean, but beans aren’t what he loves to eat the most.

You’ve got to ‘Bean’ joking!

Little Bean loves nothing more than snacking on a lovely yellow banana.

He was just six months old when he had his first taste of the fruity snack and has been hooked ever since.
His owner, Chelsea Merrit from Utah, adopted Bean as a kitten. She planned to foster the cat until she found him a forever home. But the love between the pair soon blossomed. Chelsea couldn’t part with her little feline friend.

Fruity treat

Chelsea soon realised that Bean took far more than curious interest in bananas. While he enjoys his regular cat food, Bean is very happy to supplement his diet with the tasty yellow fruit.

But Chelsea has to be careful that Bean doesn’t overindulge in his favourite food. While they aren’t toxic to felines, they do contain a lot of sugar. Cats can’t easily digest sugar so it’s best to leave it to just the odd lick or nibble.

Instagram star

While Bean does have to share Chelsea’s attention with his furry siblings, he does boast his own Instagram account that shows him relaxing, playing and yes, enjoying a lick or two of a banana.
