Handy tips for cat owners

1# Hide the Yarn

Keep balls of yarn or string away from your kitty. Ingesting a small amount can lead to serious health issues, including organ failure.

2# Research your plants

Several common plants are poisonous to cats, including lilies and tulips. Always do your research before bringing a new plant into the house.

Here's what you should do if your cat comes into contact with a poisonous plant

3# Go easy on the cuddles

Cats love human attention, but they love it on their terms. Never force attention onto your cat.

4# No hand play

Hand-play is when you use your hands as bait during playtime. But cats love to hunt; this kind of game can encourage them to attack other people's hands.

5# Don't 'punish' your cat

Raised voices and loud noises won't teach your cat anything. All you'll do is scare them away. Instead, try and identify the source of negative behaviours.

6# Cats have fur for a reason

Unless the vet says otherwise, never shave your cat's fur off. A cat without hair is prone to skin infections and sunburn.

7# Mix up their meals

A dry-food only diet can cause dehydration, which can then lead to tooth decay and kidney stones. So mix up your cat's meals with some moisture packed wet food.
