Dogs and children sometimes share a special connection.

And this incredible video is certainly proof of that!

Long-distance friends

A year before this special moment was filmed, Ellen Tift’s neighbour had to leave her home to travel, and therefore left her German Shepherd/Husky mix with family, who lived in another State.

The big white dog, named Bogart, was a very good friend of Ellen's son, Lennox. When Bogart was driven away with his owner, Lennox cried and cried. Though he had his own dog at home, he also had a very strong bond with Bogart. Lennox knew he would return someday, but he had no idea when that would be.

Days passed and soon turned into weeks, and then months. Lennox prayed every day for his best friend's return. And a year later, his prayers were answered.

Tear-jerking reunion

Ellen and Lennox were not expecting Bogart's return – but when Ellen knew Bogart was back, she got the camera ready to film a very special moment.

She leads her son to the backyard and when he sees his beloved friend – the show of emotion from both is just too much to handle!

Lennox starts to cry uncontrollably, and cuter still, so does Bogart! They clearly hadn't forgotten about each other, and were so relieved to be reunited again! Lennox hugs the big dog, who lies on his back and paws at him lovingly in return.

The love between the two is so obvious and heart-warming. We hope they have many more years of happiness together.
