The scandalous events took place in Żarów, Lower Silesia. A terrible howling was heard from a man's apartment, worrying neighbours in the building.

Since it seemed like no-one was home, the neighbours decided to contact the man’s family. When the apartment was finally opened, a dog was inside!
An urgent rescue
The man's family admitted that the tenant had been gone for over a week. The dog had been left inside the apartment, without food or water, for over 7 days! She was understandably thin and ill.
The poor girl was urgently transported to the Lower Silesian Animal Protection Inspectorate and placed under the care of dedicated veterinarians. In addition to being clearly emaciated, the dog was also suffering from a bad eye and ear infection. Because of the pus emanating from her genital area, vets also suspected that she was suffering from pyoderma, for which urgent surgery was needed.
The animal shelter organised a fundraiser to help pay for the dog's medical expenses. Vet staff were relieved to see that they were going to reach their financial goal, and therefore be able to save the sweet pooch!
Determined to survive
Indeed, despite the traumatic experiences that the poor girl had to endure, she did not lose her will to live, nor her love for humans. Her carers claimed that she would have no difficulties finding a new home – who wouldn't want such an affectionate, happy-go-lucky dog?!
Wychudzą i zaniedbaną suczkę odebraliśmy z opuszczonego mieszkania. pic.twitter.com/sc4vIdmwrq— Konrad Kuźmiński (@KuzminskiKonrad) January 19, 2020
As for her former owner, he is facing up to three years in prison for his cruelty and neglect.
We wish this beautiful girl a very speedy recovery, and hope she will be in her loving forever home soon!
