Maya Gurrin, confessed cat lady, was watching a movie with her husband when she suddenly saw multiple shadows passing in front of their window.
One confident cat!
Intrigued, they stepped outside to see what the commotion was all about. And that’s when they were shocked to discover their adorable cat Max in a show-off with not one, not two, but THREE coyotes!
Luckily, Maya and her husband arrived on the scene just in time and were able to chase the hungry coyotes away. But when they checked their security camera footage, they realised just how close their beloved Max had come to becoming coyote chow!
“I couldn't believe it! We're still shocked,” she told CBS Los Angeles just last week.
Yet, it seems like Max wasn't fazed by the experience at all. In fact, he fought the three canines fearlessly, puffing up his fur and launching himself at them, without ever leaving any part of himself exposed. It looks like Max was born for battle.
Despite this, his owners would rather not experience such a fright again. They are planning to set up a catio in their garden so that Max can still enjoy the outdoors without being at the mercy of any dangerous wildlife.
In the meantime, he'll have to keep an eye on his territory from the safety of his own home!
