When Dumpling turned up at a rescue centre on the Gold Coast of Australia, the staff knew they were going to struggle to rehome the 10-year old Labrador.

An old dog that nobody wanted

Not only was she getting on in years, but she was always overweight and blind. In other words, Dumpling wasn't exactly ideal pet material - or at least not on paper.

But staff atLabradors Rescue knew she was full of love and refused to give up on this special pooch.

They posted 'Dumpling's' heartbreaking story on their Facebook page. Rescuers wrote:

"Unfortunately I was dumped at the pound at ten years old, blind, overweight and alone. 'As you can tell, I have no eyes; I had to lose them as they were causing me a lot of pain."

They were soon inundated with offers. In fact, after just a few days, Dumpling had 63 potential new dog parents to choose from!

Not bad for a blind, chubby pooch that nobody wanted!

Dumpling eventually went with the Ingebrigtsen family. Her dog parents, Debbie and Craig Ingebrigtsen, told the Metro:

"She's adorable; we're really grateful that we've been given the opportunity to look after her and give her the wonderful life that she deserves."

Dumpling is also making friends with her new dog brother, a chocolate Labrador named Bob!

Every dog deserves a home

Labrador Rescue updated its followers with the good news. They posted this message:

"Our little Dumpling has become a massive social media star; her story has been shared far and wide by our supporters, celebrities, news sites, it's been overwhelming!"

Dumpling's story is a reminder that we should never give up on any dog. After all, there's a home for every pooch. We just need to help them find it!
