After four long years without sharing his home – and life - with a cat, Keith Reszoly decided it was time to get a new feline friend. But he could never have imagined just what a little cuddle-bug his new little kitten would be.

This heartwarming story starts when Keith's mum heard about a litter of rescued cats that were in need of homes. Knowing how much Keith loves cats, she immediately thought that he should adopt one.

Keith and his mum fell in love with a cute little tortoiseshell cat called Gladys and decided to adopt her.

Love at first sight

It was pretty much love at first sight.

"The first day I saw her, she was extremely friendly and walked up to everyone, climbed up their legs, sniffed them, and wanted to be held," Keith told Love Meow.

Keith renamed the little kitten Gracie and she quickly settled into her new home.

Very soon, Gracie began to follow Keith wherever he went in the house even being carried around in his hoodie. She became his little shadow and would love nothing more than to curl up and go to sleep in his arms.

"She enjoyed being held like a baby in my arms. The first few nights, she only slept on her back between my arm and chest. It has never stopped since the day Gracie arrived," Keith said.

Morning cuddles

The adorable little tortie's favourite thing is to snuggle up with Keith as soon as he wakes up. She's worked out that he wakes up when his alarm clock goes off and this has become her cue to jump onto his bed for cuddles.

"She jumps up when she hears my alarm (or me moving a lot) and goes to lay on my chest. She usually sleeps there about an hour or two if I don't move at all," Keith added.

And Keith doesn’t mind one whisker.

He has become so devoted to little Gracie that he has even made sure he wakes up earlier in the morning so he has extra time to give her cuddles.

Happy time

"I've been setting my alarm 30 minutes early every day to give her more happy time."

In fact, Keith's bed seems to be Gracie's favourite place in the house. She loves to nuzzle into the crook of his neck or his chest.

Gracie doesn't let anything get in the way of her cuddle time with Keith.

As soon as he gets home from work, she is there waiting for him to cuddle and she simply won't take no for an answer. Even when he's trying to work on his computer, Gracie will crawl up on to his lap. "About two hours a day when I'm sitting at my desk I would be holding Gracie in my left arm while my right arm is on my mouse," he said.

Feisty feline

Gracie is a little girl who knows what she wants and how to get it from her humans.

"If I were to meow at her then she would meow back. Gracie also always meows if I don't show her attention when she rubs against my legs or walks across my desk," Keith added.

Gracie might have grown a lot bigger and fluffier now, but she is still as cuddly as ever.
