It's rare that a new student has this kind of effect on children, but this elementary school class just couldn't contain themselves when they saw the new guy arrive.

Indeed, the new student was no other than a 3-month-old Labrador named Sky. Sky is actually the headmistress Annika S.’ puppy. She had the brilliant idea of taking her puppy to the school (in Hofheim/Taunus, Germany) with her, and training him to become a therapy dog.
A real good boy
Though he is still young, it seems that Sky is already working wonders at his new job. Not only is he making the children infinitely happy, but he's already having some quantifiable and noteworthy effects on their mental health and academic success.
The motivation and concentration of the students, for instance, has risen significantly. In addition, when the dog is in the class, the noise level drops significantly, and students’ participation improves dramatically.
This is a real benefit not only for the students, but also for the teachers, who are able to better understand and provide for their pupils.
For example, one teacher listened in as a young student shared his worries with Sky, whispering in the pup's ear. It turns out that the young boy was having to wait an hour in the playground before school actually started, because his parents had no choice but to drop him off early. Now a plan has been set in place to make sure this little boy never has to wait outside again.
We have a feeling Sky is going to be a real pro at counselling when he grows up! We are certainly impressed. Well done Sky!
