A stray dog, believed to have been dumped before Christmas to make way for a new puppy, has found a new forever home and he couldn't be happier.

A Christmas rescue
The Christmas tale begins with Comet, a gorgeous three-year-old Lurcher, wandering the streets alone in the run up to the festive season. He was malnourished and had clearly been abandoned, likely to make way for a new puppy for Christmas.
Thankfully for little Comet, staff from the Crowfoot Kennels Dog Rescue found him lost and alone and took him in to the shelter.
Poor Comet doesn't seem to have had the greatest start to life and the fact he wasn't microchipped and had sores on his body, shows the lack of care he had from his previous owner.
A new home
BUT, it's not all doom and gloom! With a little love and attention little Comet has blossomed at the shelter and already has a new owner lined up.
The pretty pooch will be in his new forever home by Christmas and no doubt will be curled up by the fire on Christmas morning, safe in the knowledge that he's found a home for life.
We've all heard the saying, “A dog is for life, not just for Christmas” but it seems that at this time of year the number of abandoned dogs rises to make way for new puppies.
Staff at Crowfoot Kennels said,
“This time last year and in previous years we get a big increase in stray and abandoned dogs. The dogs are normally in poor condition and [have] possibly been dumped to make way for the puppy at Christmas.”
At Wamiz, we're big believers in adoption and we hope that Comet has the Christmas he deserves (and a long and happy life beyond that)!
