Roxy has always been an active dog, but now she can show us just how active she is! With a GoPro strapped to her back she takes us on daily adventures.

Roxy is a delightful mix of a Labrador and a Doberman. At two and a half years old she is just like any dog of her age and breeding: excitable, energetic, powerful and inquisitive. She loves taking long walks with her owner and meeting other dogs.

Normally, that is where we'd leave things. But of Roxy there is a big difference. Her owner Jeray Tomlinson wanted to know what the world would look like from Roxy's point of view, and the most obvious way to do this was to strap a GoPro to the dog's back.

Mr Tomlinson was delighted with what he saw: a rare insight into his dog's life from her level. Here were the countless meetings with friends (and enemies), the constant sniffing, the play and the panting.

A growing number of fans

Tomlinson, who lives in Canada, was so taken with the results of his experiment that he posted the videos on Instagram under the handle “POVpup”. The account, which was begun in July, now has over 5,000 followers.

Tomlinson told The Metro, “Roxy is two-and-a-half-years-old. Her birthday is June 1st. I started to put content online about ‘POVpup’ in July of this year. It had been something I had been wanting to do and finally decided that it was time.

There is no limit to what can be shown in videos,” he added. “They range from her doing tricks, to interactions with other dogs, to random adventures in different places.”

POVpup is the point of view of a dog doing all the things dogs do and more,” said Tomlinson. “When we review the videos it really just makes me want to continue to create more content for people to enjoy.
