A pet hotel security camera caught the adorable moment when one of the furry residents snuck out of her kennel to comfort a pair of crying foster puppies.

Maggie the Australian Shepherd mix-breed was enjoying a short stay at the Barkers Pet Motel in Alberta, Canada, while her humans were on holiday.
A special bond develops
The friendly pooch quickly made pals with the other guests, but there were two very special residents she had a real soft spot for - a pair of 9-week-old foster pups waiting for their forever home.
Staff saw the special bond straight away, but it wasn't until somebody checked footage from the security camera that they realised just how far Maggie would go for these little ones.
The surveillance camera showed Maggie slipping out of her kennel at night, then laying next to the puppies to keep them safe. She even gave them a few licks when they started to cry.
Staff at the dog motel have seen some pretty cute things over the years, but they all agreed that Maggie's adorable antics topped the list.
After pet motel owner Sandi Aldred saw the footage, she said:
"They were just all so happy to be together. She was nuzzling them really gently and nudging them, and then she laid down and let them cuddle with her. "
"The puppies needed her and she needed them," she continued. "It was pretty perfect."
Sandi also revealed how Maggie had recently weaned her own litter of puppies before they were adopted by forever families. So it looks like these puppies met Maggie at just the right time!
Maggie goes home, but so do the puppies
Maggie is now back at home, although Sandi jokingly asked her humans if Maggie could stay a bit longer to look after the puppies!
Staff will now take turns to take the puppies home every night until they're adopted.
