In the UK, we are a nation of cat lovers and much prefer to post photos and videos of our feline friends instead of sharing selfies. A staggering 3.8 million photos and clips of cats are shared every day compared to just 1.4 million selfies. Not forgetting the 350,00 cat owners who have created a social media account for their moggy.
We love nothing more than to gaze at cute online cat photos as part of our day.
But some cat photos end up taking over the internet.
Lauren Boutz is a foster mum to a little kitten called Blossom and the kitten’s two siblings. The feline foster mum decided to take a photo of the trio with Blossom sitting on the arm of a chair, posing for the camera.
As Lauren goes to take the photo, Blossom puts on the most adorable and mischievous smile which will simply melt anyone's heart.
Lauren just had to photograph it and post it online.
It wasn’t long after Lauren had uploaded the photos, Blossom’s smile got the internet smiling too. More than 72k people liked the photos, while a further 217k shared them across Facebook.
Lauren fosters kittens for the City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department. Along with little Blossom, she also takes care of Bubbles and Buttercup, who she calls her 'Powerpurr Girls' and were just 5 weeks old when they became internet stars.
