A dog with two tails

There’s nothing like waking up to the sight of your furry friend’s tail wagging, is there? How would you feel if your doggo had two tails though? That’s exactly what’s happened to this little cutie and the second tail is on his head!

Named Narwhal on account of his magical second tail, this little pup has become an overnight internet sensation with thousands of views, likes and shares on Instagram.

Abandoned pup

Rescue organisation Mac’s Mission found the tiny pup wandering around in the cold with an older dog and took them both in to safety. It wasn’t long before they discovered the unusual protuberance coming from the smaller pup and immediately noticed his uncanny resemblance to a mythical unicorn.

Following scans and check-ups by the vet, it seems the tail is perfectly harmless and not connected to anything. According to his owners, that means his extra tail has

“no real use other than making him the COOLEST PUPPY EVER!’

Just a regular pup

Videos show little Narwhal energetically bounding around his new abode like any other regular one-tailed doggo. So far, it seems to have no effect on his health at all and just makes him extra special and unique.

The question is, does the extra tail wag. The answer: Not yet but we're sure little Narwhal is working on it!

Rescuers are keeping hold of him for now in case the tail presents any problems as he grows. But if not, as they suspect it won’t, they’ll start the search for his forever home so if you’ve ever wanted your very own unicorn dog, it’s time to join the queue.

Someone is not super thrilled about the vet. I tried telling Narwhal it wasn’t scary to get xrays. Love, MacaroniBigBro
