As teenagers, we were constantly asked what we wanted to do when we grew up but, as adults, people stop asking. Presumably, because it’s generally assumed we’ll carry on doing exactly the same as we’re doing now. They obviously don’t understand our pet-related ambitions, though.

If you’re looking ahead then consider some of the following winning suggestions.

1. Move to the woods (and get lots of dogs)

Sun-dappled vistas, fresh air and plenty of long walks. Oh and dogs, multiple dogs.

2. Become a farmer

Okay, farming is hard work and a profession not to be undertaken lightly but just think of all those animals….

3.    Move to the seaside (with dogs)

There’s something magical about waking up to the sound of the waves gently lapping against the shore. And the sound of multiple dogs gently licking your face, of course.

4. Redecorate your home (to make room for all the cats)

If you’re perfectly happy where you are and don’t fancy a move to the coast then it might be time to redecorate. If you get plenty of extra shelving units then you can organise all of your many, many cats…

5. Fine! Just get more pets

Okay, okay, so there *may* be a bit of a theme here and it may be very firmly animal based but we can see your future and it involves lots and lots of lovely furry friends.
