Adorable Gracie was abandoned as a very young pup. She was cruelly dumped and found crawling with maggots, with large patches of fur missing. What’s more, due to birth defects, both of her front legs were missing.
All in all, not the most auspicious start to life but luckily, as a little pup she was taken in by Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue. The veterinarian team here took special care of her and brought her back to health before looking for a forever home for the little pooch.
A family affair
It was from here that the Turley family spotted her and immediately fell in love. They were already the loving owners of a paralysed dog and a three-legged Chihuahua and little Gracie fit right in!
Gracie was a happy, loving member of the family but without her front legs she had to jump to get anywhere which made her new owners worry that she may end up injuring herself. Unfortunately, she was far too small for doggie wheelchairs which is where her very clever human brother came in.
12-year-old Dylan was a huge lego fan and realised he might have the solution to little Gracie’s problems. He decided to build a wheelchair from lego which could be adjusted as she grew. The ingenious idea worked perfectly and as you can see from the video below, little Gracie took to her colourful new wheelchair immediately.
This gorgeous little pooch has the best human brother she could wish for and we wish them lots of playtime for years to come.
