Basia is an adorable little mix breed who showed up at a dog rescue centre in Warsaw, Poland, during the summer of 2016.

A shy dog with a big heart

She was a little bit shy at first but soon came out of her shell after spending some time with the volunteers at the centre. They watched Basia turn into a happy pup who enjoys lots of stokes and games of fetch followed by a snuggle up on the sofa.

And with her big, adoring smile, everyone at the shelter was sure it wouldn't be too long before a new dog mum or dad fell in love with this very special dog.

But fast forward three years, and Basia is still waiting for a forever home. The volunteers who look after Basia just can't understand why someone hasn't taken this pup. After all, she's got so much love to offer the right owners.

Now we're hoping the power of social media can find this dog a home. The rescue shelter recently posted Basia's story on Facebook, including a short bio to give potential owners an insight into her unique little character. The post reads:

"What's Basia like? Cordial and loving towards people she knows. Likes to play. Great, guide-focused dog, and a good companion."

The post also includes a picture of Basia's trademark smile.

Who could say no to a face like that?

We're on your side Basia

Unfortunately for us UK pooch lovers, Basia is all the way over in Poland. Otherwise, we'd take her in no time.

However, let's send him our best wishes and keep our paws crossed that she gets what every dog deserves - a loving home!

We're rooting for you, Basia!
