An incredible vet is using TikTok to give dog lovers a glimpse into his daily life dedicated to helping and healing pooches in need.

Dr Thomas Hamilton is not your ordinary veterinarian. Because in addition to saving and treating poorly pups all day long, Dr Thomas is also a social media star.

Cute clients and furry patients

So how did Dr Thomas build up this massive following? Well, his cute clients certainly help.

Dr Tom's videos feature a range of furry patients. They include a tiny Chihuahua with a broken leg, a big Rottweiler struggling with separation anxiety, and nervous rescue dogs learning to trust

But his adorable way of interacting with them is what makes Dr Thomas a real star and hero. No matter what dog or what condition he's treating, Dr Thomas always prescribes a huge dose of love, praise, patience, and affection.

Although, in some cases, a prescription of treats is required to get on good terms with the patient. And it's one treatment plan that never fails.

Dr Tom, who runs a veterinarian surgery in Warwick, Rhode Island, USA,  has appeared on several local and national TV news stations. In March last year, he was featured in a Good Morning America segment after a video of him working with a scared rescue dog went viral.

Kindness is the greatest medicine

The two-minute clip shows Dr Tom winning the dog's trust. When asked about his unique approach, Dr Tom said:

"It's just kindness. I want the world to realise [that] through kindness and compassion, you can change a dog's perspective on who you are and what kind of place the world is."

"I don't want to treat animals and then send them on their way. I want to actually build a relationship with them."
