When Cinderblock’s former owner bought her to the vet to have her put down, veterinarian Brita Kiffney just couldn’t bring herself to do it.

Cinderblock is a 25-pound Russian Blue cat who was bought into the Northshore Veterinary Hospital in Bellingham, Washington, as her owner was unfortunately no longer able to look after her.

But that wasn’t the end of Cinderblock’s story. When Brita Kiffney met the cat, she persuaded the medical director and the owner to let Cinderblock live – and everyone agreed.

Brita and the rest of the staff at Northshore Veterinary Hospital are now committed to helping Cinderblock - now nicknamed Cinder - lose weight, and become an internet sensation too!

Cinder started becoming popular online after a video of her on an underwater treadmill made its appearance. The treadmill is underwater as this is easier on the joints when the animal exercises.

No one likes working out...

The 13 second video which was posted to Facebook quickly gained lots of attention. Cinder is seen half-heartedly pawing at the treadmill and wailing.

The video has gained over 2.5million views!

Lots of people relate to Cinder, hence why the video has become so popular.

One user Meren Gadman, said, " feel your pain girl! This is how I feel at 5am walking in the rain!"

Another user, Susama Sonsiri said "she’s participating even if it’s ever so slightly because she has to, but she is letting them know she isn’t happy about it."

While Cinder doesn’t like working out on a treadmill, she sure does love her feather toy.
