Sandy Burke looked everywhere for her dog but couldn’t find him anywhere. As she began to get more desperate, she decided to look more closely at her carpet.

Sandy's dog is not particularly big, however, he's not so small that he is easily overlooked. Yet she experienced the shock of her dog vanishing into thin air.

Sandy's dogs love roaming freely on her 40-acre property during the day. They usually play together, running and rolling in the dirt endlessly. The garden holds a garden, a lake and a forest. For the dogs, this is a wonderful space for them to be as energetic as they like! It was after such a day as this that Sandy's dog suddenly disappeared...

After their play session, Sandy took the dogs indoors to bathe them as they were dirty from all their outdoor fun. When they were all clean, the dogs decided to get some rest in their favourite resting spots. And that’s when the shocking incident took place.

Beige dog on beige carpet

For the the dog in this story, this meant lying down on a beige rug – the same colour as his fur.

For Sandy, this meant that she couldn’t find her fluffy friend.

She searched high and low for him

She searched outside for him first, calling out his name. But she was unable to find him anywhere. Panicked, she returned to the house. Lo and behold, the dog was right at her feet the whole time.

He had made himself comfortable on his favourite rug – a beige rug.

In a picture posted to social media, the dog is barely visible against the beige rug, unless you look very closely. The picture went viral in just a short amount of time. The fluffy beige dog becoming an internet sensation in his camouflage.
