Everyone was going about their day as normal when two Beagle mix dogs were thrown out of a moving vehicle on to an icy New York highway. Luckily, they are both safe.

These two adorable Beagle dogs were heartlessly thrown from a moving vehicle by someone who never wanted to see them again. It was a heartless action and not one that didn’t come without consequences.

A brutal situation

Though the situation could have been worse for these dogs, they were fortunately found by a passing trucker, who saw the dogs and decided to help them. It wasn’t a difficult decision for him.

One of the dogs, a 6 to 8-year-old, was unfortunately severely injured, and the other dog, a 1-year-old, wandered around his friend, but luckily was less injured.

Rescued

The trucker decided to rescue the dogs and call the police. He fitted the first dog with a splint and wrapped him in a blanket and his own sweatshirt.

At the vets, the first dog, who is now named Trooper after his bravery, had to unfortunately have his leg amputated because of severe injuries including two fractured front legs, broken ribs, and contusions to the lungs and shoulder.

The second dog, now named Adam, after the name of the trucker who rescued the dogs, was taken care of too and reportedly ate lots of dog treats on the ride to the vets.

Amberly Ondria, shelter manager for the Broome County Humane Society, told ABC News that "these animals have been through a lot, and people need to understand that this is not OK,"

"This is not something that should be done."

We share Amberly’s outrage at the inhumane treatment that these dogs had to suffer and we’re glad to hear that both are doing better.

Police are still looking into finding out who is responsible.
