Dogs never cease to amaze us with their strange and human-like behaviour. That’s what one man discovered when he got up in the night and saw what his dog was up to.

Have you ever wondered what your dog gets up to in the night? When you hear the pitter-patter sound of their feet as they walk around the house? Perhaps they are playing with one of their toys, or like in this case, innocently heading to the kitchen for a drink of water.

It’s a story that has got twitter laughing and we really aren’t surprised. But while it might sound a little bizarre, many dog owners will probably be very familiar with some of the more unusual behaviour witnessed by this canine.

For the man, he got quite a surprise when he heard a strange noise in the dead of night. Once he was awake, the man decided to investigate what had made the noise.

Cloaked figure

Could it be a burglar?

And then he saw it. A short, cloaked figure moving across the floor. What on earth could it be?

The man got closer and realised it wasn’t a burglar. It wasn’t a ghost.

Mystery solved

It was actually the man's cute little dog called Lacey.

Lacey had got out of her bed to get a drink of water from the kitchen. But she was still covered in her blanket. He could only watch with amusement as the small cloaked figure plodded along to get her drink and then return back to bed.

Too warm and cosy

It seems that Lacey was so cosy and warm under her blanket she didn’t bother to shake it off when she got out of bed and merrily plodded along to the kitchen while it was still covering her.

Twitter user @mythicalwndfish shared the amusing photos her dad had taken of the pup's journey from bed to the kitchen and back again.

We hope Lacey enjoys being a twitter star (but maybe remembers to leave the blanket next time).
