A mixed breed, one-year old puppy, was found trapped under an air conditioner in the rubble of the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian.
It all took place in Marsh Harbour, a neighbourhood on the Great Abaco Island.
Luckily still alive
The dog, who survived by drinking fallen rainwater which fell in front of him for almost three weeks, was thankfully, still alive.
Florida-based Big Dog Ranch Rescue spotted the puppy using an infrared drone, which senses the heat of bodies in order to find them successfully.
Rescuers held out food for the puppy, who wagged his tail with joy in response to being rescued and being given a proper meal.
Safe and sound
The puppy was flown to Florida for treatment as he had lost over 20 pounds from weeks of being unable to move and therefore feed himself. He is expected to make a full recovery.
The dog will be put up for adoption if the owners are unable to collect him within 30 days.
He has aptly been named after his rescue – Miracle.
