When Ice came to to the vets, it looked like he wasn't going to make it. But as they were preparing to make the hardest decision, a twist of fate changed everything!

Sometimes a vet has to admit there's nothing more they can do for a sick animal. And although putting a sick dog to sleep is always a heartbreaking decision, it's something that many vets need to do on a regular basis.
Things weren't looking good for Ice
And this is exactly the position vets found themselves in when they saw Ice the Husky for the first time.
The poor dog was so sick that he couldn't even lift his head and was slipping in and out of a coma. Things looked bad for Ice, but specialists from The Vet Ranch Association had one last hope.
They ordered blood tests and worked hard to keep Ice alive while they waited for the samples to be analysed.
A short while later they got some news. Ice was suffering from a severe type of anemia, a blood condition which stops enough oxygen getting to the organs.
Vets got to work straight away. They put Ice on a drip and then waited for signs of improvement.
A week passed before Ice was able to stand and eat on his own. But after the second week, the staff couldn't believe they were looking at the same dog! Ice was up and about, wagging his tail like any other healthy pooch.
After running more blood tests, they gave Ice the all-clear and began helping him find a forever home.
Ice was placed with a foster family, but it wasn't long before they decided they couldn't let this very special dog go!
The unsung heroes!
Ice is now well on his way to living out his happy ever after - and it's all thanks to the amazing work of a dedicated bunch of animal specialists. Well done, guys!
