Cats are every bit as good as dogs, right? Whether or not you agree, you must admit there’s been a gap in the market for a Crufts-style display that showcases the special talents and abilities of our feline friends.

Thankfully, the team at The Edinburgh and East of Scotland Cat Club agree and are holding their 62nd Annual Championship Show next week. The best part is, members of the public are invited!

Award-winning moggies

There will be awards for both pedigree and non-pedigree moggies who can compete for coveted titles such as “best in show”, “loudest purr”, “most elegant” and “most well-groomed”.

The show is held under the rather fancy-sounding Rules of the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (which is the cat equivalent of the Kennel Club) and visitors will be able to meet hundreds of cats and kittens.

Meet fellow cat lovers

There will be breeders, specialists and cat lovers a-plenty.

The purr-fect event will be held on Saturday 12th October at the Academy Sports Centre, Edinburgh and tickets are just £2.50 to attend (£1 for children).
