Young Cara was playing happily near her family home when she heard noises coming from a pile of wooden pallets. Concerned that an animal was in distress, and using strength befitting someone much bigger, little Cara managed to move a huge pile of pallets to see what was underneath. After much effort, what greeted her was a very sad scene. Underneath the pile of wooden crates was a poorly pup trapped in a small pit.
Cara immediately ran to the house to ask her daddy for help. When he arrived he saw the sad truth right away, the dog had not fallen but had been left there to die by callous owners. He took the dog out of the pit and realised not only was she very malnourished but she'd also lost her sight.
A new start for Bella
Cara decided to name the dog Bella and the whole family made her comfortable at home so she could rest. The next day, they contacted the Rainbow Rehoming Center to find Bella her forever home.
The volunteers took the dog to the vet and found out she’d been used for breeding and abandoned when she was no longer able to carry babies. The poor pup probably spent her whole life tied up.
But, despite the heart-breaking start to this tale, it ends happily! Bella has now found her forever home and will spend the rest of her days in comfort surrounded by a family who love her.
