After successfully rescuing these dogs, the rescuers realise they were wrong all along - though in the canine family, these were not domestic dogs in the slightest!

Firefighters in Colorado came to the rescue of cute puppies who were unfortunately stuck in a rainwater collector. Luckily the rescue was carried out successfully and the puppies could be taken somewhere safe. So, when the rescue was complete, one of the firefighters accompanied the puppies (who were still trembling) to a shelter, where they would be taken care of with proper care and attention. When the puppies were ready, the shelter would rehome them and find them loving families.
However, upon arriving at the shelter, the firefighter learned that the animals he was carrying to safety were not puppies at all – but red foxes!
Red foxes can be found in many habitats in Colorado, but there are genetic variations which mean the colour of their fur often varies from red, to grey and black, according to Colorado Parks and Wildlife. They are especially dark as babies, which is why the firefighters didn't think they were foxes at all!
Safe and Sound
It is decided to bring the foxes back to where they were found and place them safely where their mother can find them easily.
