They are photos that will break the heart of any animal lover and make you want to ask the question, how could any owner act in such a heartless and cruel way towards their dog?

Shocking and heartbreaking photos have been shown online of the moment a man came across a white Boxer dog looking so sad and scared after being abandoned and left chained to a lamppost by the side of a road.

Sad and scared

Graham Dobson spotted the poor pooch looking very sad and frightened as it hung its head after being cruelly dumped on the streets of Hull.

Mr Dobson told the Hull Daily Mail:

“It was heartbreaking to see he had been left and how upset he was, as he was a real nice dog and so friendly, just really scared. I came to work in the morning and found the dog tied up on the main road looking sad and scared.”

Over an hour tied up

Mr Dobson discovered that the dog had been sitting on its own for over an hour before it was rescued. He added:

“I got told by other people that he’d been tied up for more than an hour, and I fed and watered him as he’d been left with nothing and then called the dog warden to pick him up.”

Looking for new home

The lovely boxer is now enjoying life in his temporary foster home after being looked after by Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire Boxer Rescue. Staff at the shelter have named the dog Max and are hoping to find him a loving new home soon.

Like many animal lovers, Mr Dobson said he couldn’t understand how someone could be so cruel and just abandon a dog to fend for himself. He hopes that the authorities will be able to find the Boxer a loving new home.
